How It's Made

How Tasteaze Artisan Clarified Butter & Ghee Is Made

Traditional Craftsmanship. Every Jar.

At Tasteaze, we believe the process is just as important as the product. Every jar of Tasteaze Artisan Clarified Butter, also known as ghee, is handcrafted in small batches in Surrey, United Kingdom.

Using premium unsalted butter and a traditional slow-clarification process, we create premium British clarified butter with a rich buttery flavour, beautiful golden colour, smooth texture, and a naturally high smoke point. Whether you call it clarified butter or ghee, every jar is made with patience, precision, and care.

If you're wondering how clarified butter is made, how ghee is made, or what makes artisan clarified butter different, here's how we craft every jar of Tasteaze.

Step 1 — Selecting Premium Butter

Every batch begins with carefully selected premium unsalted butter.

The quality of the butter directly influences the flavour, aroma, colour, and texture of our finished artisan clarified butter. Starting with premium butter allows us to create a rich, smooth British ghee that meets the Tasteaze standard.

Step 2 — Slowly Melting the Butter

The butter is gently melted over low, controlled heat.

This slow process allows the butter to melt evenly while preserving its natural flavour. We never rush this stage because careful melting is the foundation of exceptional clarified butter.

Step 3 — Traditional Slow Clarification

As the butter slowly melts, the water naturally evaporates while the milk solids separate from the pure butterfat.

This traditional slow-clarification process transforms butter into beautifully golden clarified butter, commonly known as ghee.

Taking our time develops the rich buttery aroma, deep flavour, and smooth finish that make Tasteaze different.

Step 4 — Carefully Filtering the Clarified Butter

Once the clarification process is complete, the pure golden clarified butter is carefully filtered to remove the remaining milk solids.

The result is beautifully clear ghee with a smooth texture, rich buttery taste, and a naturally high smoke point, making it ideal for frying, roasting, sautéing, baking, and everyday cooking.

Step 5 — Filling Every Jar

While still warm, our handcrafted clarified butter is carefully poured into premium glass jars.

Every jar is filled with precision to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across every small batch.

Step 6 — Hand Labelled & Carefully Packed

Every jar of Tasteaze Artisan Clarified Butter is hand labelled, inspected, and carefully packed before leaving our workshop.

From production to packaging, every detail reflects our commitment to creating premium British artisan clarified butter that we're proud to share with our customers.
